Would You Buy a Political Party From This Man

There’s a new political party that’s been formed, the Forward Party and Democrats should be VERY AFRAID! The new 3rd party, which is being plugged in the media as a combination of ‘moderate Democrats and Republicans’, will do one thing...help Republican extremists. First of all, Andrew Yang is not, and was never, a progressive Democrat, despite what my granola eating Great Aunt might say. He made his announcements for his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020 via several podcast shows including The Joe Rogan Experience and The Ben Shapiro Show, among others. These bastions of conservatism did not have him on their shows because they felt he was a progressive liberal. In other words, he went to Conservative media to sell his candidacy. He was always a vote splitter, not a vote getter. Then, after fairing poorly in the New Hampshire primary, he suspended his campaign on February 11, 2020. Despite being offered positions in the Biden administration, he eschewed the offers; Thereafter, on October 4, 2021, Yang announced on his blog that he had changed his voter registration from Democrat to Independent, saying he was "confident that no longer being a Democrat is the right thing", the next day he announced the formation of the Forward Party. The fact that many (anti-Trump) Republicans are signing on, doesn’t really make sense, if the party is intending to push forward on the one supposedly progressive issue that Yang touted, universal income. (His platform as a presidential candidate included a call for $1,000.00/month universal income to all citizens.) The other party platforms include ranked voting, open primaries and ‘human-centered capitalism’. In the USC Economics Review Journal from December 4, 2020, they did a ‘deep dive’ (/s; their words for a very bare-bones review of the topic) into Yang’s ‘Human Capitalism’. usceconreview.com/… Therein, they note top countries which have embraced ‘Human Capitalism’, which they claim is “essentially, a capitalist society with a government-run social safety net that consists of programs like free education and universal healthcare. And it’s no coincidence that its five members have ranked among the top ten in the World Happiness Report over the last five years it was conducted.” The only problem is that the countries which they are describing are all Democratic Socialist countries, i.e. ‘Finland, Denmark, Norway,’ etc. The viability of Socialism was specifically rejected by Yang in his 2020 presidential platform, where contended “Capitalism as an economic system has led to unparalleled innovation and improvement in the human condition. Many consider it to have “won” the war of ideas against socialism.” yang2020.com/… The real problem is that his description of ‘Human Capitalism’ is a non-existent fantasy, which he says can exist and for which he and others serve up Democratic Socialist countries as examples.

So, now, the reason why the Democratic Party should be VERY afraid! The U.S. is becoming more polarized, with the general population becoming more liberal, not more conservative, especially on social issues. Poll after poll shows that a majority of Americans, as far as social policies, favor a woman’s right to bodily autonomy, LGBT rights, same sex marriage, gun control, a green economy, reducing global warming, etc. If corporate Democrats (as well as well meaning, but ignorant Democratic voters who see this as ‘reaching across the aisle to a middle-ground) are peeled off from the Democratic party, every close race in this country, where the Forward Party has put forth a candidate, will go to the Republican (GQP) candidate. We have seen this happen again and again. Despite any well meaning principles Ralph Nader may have had in 2000, it has become well accepted that the Green Party cost Gore the presidency. Republicans have long been hoping for a perpetual minority rule. The Forward Party may just make that dream a reality.
