I just watched Jon Stewart on MSNBC taking down the Senate GOPers who are holding hostage a bill (the Honoring Our PACT Act) to help veterans who were exposed to the worst toxins imaginable when our military had our soldiers, sailors, Airmen and Marines burn these toxins in open burn pits, with little regard to our veterans' safety. (An estimated 3.5 million veterans...have been exposed to toxic substances since the September 11 attacks! [Veterans Exposed to Toxins])

His last comment for that segment, on camera, was: 'If this is America First, then we are Fucked!'

Of course, since we have very fragile sensibilities as adults, the word Fucked was blanked over. Why?

I am a Navy Vietnam Combat Veteran, and I can assure you that I have uttered every conceivable ‘bad’ word imaginable - but I leave the word Fuck or Fucked or Fucking for only those occasions where it is appropriated.

When Jon Stewart uttered that TV banned word, he meant it to display the ultimate in anger, and I share that anger, and we should all share that anger and we are fucked if we don't start sharing our anger with those charlatans in Congress who would send our brothers and sisters, our sons and daughters, our neighbors off to war and then have the balls to play with their lives, once more, when they get home. Politics, fucking politics.

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!

I am not sure saying that word will have any noticeable effect on the GOP. I am not sure it has any effect except as a verbal or literal display of anger. But anger is anger and I, together with Jon and many others, am fucking mad.

It was a joke, at least to me, when someone mentioned that their father, son, or brother came home from Vietnam, or wherever, and while sitting at the Thanksgiving table asked someone to pass the ‘fucking butter’. We often assimilate words into everyday speech that shouldn’t be. There is a world of difference between the ‘fucking butter’ and the ‘VC blew his fucking legs off’.

I would hope that we can learn when our sensibilities need to be raised and not blank out ‘fucked’ when the anger behind is to be realized, noticed.

…and yes, I am fucking mad at the GOP Senators who would hostage a bill that might lessen the pain some of our veterans live with or have died with.

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!
