Anti-Semitic Christian Nationalists in the Republican party are ill-informed, in my opinion. They may be surprised by some modern historical biblical scholarship findings* below. Although these points may not fundamentally repudiate the views of Christian Nationalists in their minds, they deserve contemplation.

The Jesus described in the New Testament was, in fact, a practicing Jew until the day he died.

The early Christian church consisted mainly of Jews. Other Jews considered it as one sect among other sects of Judaism that were expecting a Jewish messiah. After it became clear that mainstream Judaism rejected Jesus as this messiah, the church became increasingly non-Jewish, i.e., Gentile.

The only scripture the early Jewish Christians had was the Hebrew Bible. The complete canonical New Testament was not available until a couple of hundred years, or more, after the death of Jesus. For example, the New Testament writer Paul did not appear to know anything about the canonical four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

*I am not a Biblical scholar, nor am I a Christian or a Jew. I have, though, as a layperson, read modern biblical scholarship. Biblical scholarship historically approaches the Bible much as a scholar of ancient Greek civilization might approach the writings of Homer. Biblical scholarship is not devotional, inspirational, or confessional. Bart D. Ehrman's The New Testament: A Historical Introduction to the Early Christian Writings, Seventh Edition, Oxford University Press, 2020, is an example of modern biblical scholarship. However, Ehrman is not responsible for any misunderstandings I might have, as exhibited in the above bullet points, which derive from my understanding of the work of many scholars.
