President Biden called out Donald Trump to law enforcement officers. In essence, he called Trump a coward. He said Trump was anti-cop. Biden Calls Trump A Coward He essentially said the Donald does not have the stomach to be a real leader during a time of crisis.
Worse, this attacks Trump’s very identity. In his mind, he is a fearless leader who speaks his mind and never backs down.
Donald Trump will come forward any day now. He has to. It is his very nature. Wait, he has already committed to a, “Major Policy Speech”, in Washington. Trump Returns to the Scene of the Crime
As if. Policy?
So, what are the political implications? My guess, Trump, DeSantis and the rest of the Republican presidential aspirants will declare candidacies earlier and race further to whatever space is left to the right. One of them will win.
Sure, there will be a voice or two trying to claim the Republican moderate space. It will be as if a single Who called out to Horton. That Whoville is long gone. That Republican Party is dead.
Thus, again, we are presented with an opportunity. One last link, this time to one of our own BlackGrannyRising. This is the list. Every Republican candidate for every national office needs to be linked to this. Obviously, some editing to focus on the candidate’s own most egregious votes or statements might be useful. However, even if the candidate is marginally more moderate than most of his ilk, the very simple strategy is to link him, or her, to that same ilk.
“If this is what your party stands for, why are you still a part of it?”
So, President Biden has started the 2024 political campaign by calling out Trump. Predictably, the Republican Party as a whole, will race to the bottom to be leading that party. We need simply to use the evidence they will hand us, as if on a silver platter.
Paul Revere, that colonial silversmith, taught us what to do with information of a planned attack. Use it. Shout it from village to village, from coast to mountains from city to countryside. Wake folks up with our clamor.
