Welcome to the Street Prophets Coffee Hour.
I've been a little, as they say, under the weather recently. (Do other people still use that expression? Or is it just me?) Been dealing with some sort of stomach bug. I won't get into details; anyone who's ever had a stomach bug (and I imagine that's most of us) knows already what it's like.
Anyway... when I'm feeling, *ahem*, crappy I try to take it easy as much as possible. When I can, I like to go out to my patio and just sit there. Looking and listening and observing. This week I noticed some things that of course reminded me of other things. That happens a lot.
So I took pictures.
A little potted cedar tree...and my toes.
A "volunteer" mullein plant that sprouted between some bricks. I've decided to encourage it to grow.
Seed pods of the mesquite trees that surround my house.
Seashells brought here from California back when my parents first moved to Arizona.
A gorgeous old wood burl my kids found in a wash.
A society garlic plant gifted to me by my son.
Back indoors, other things caught my attention.
The pentacle revealed inside an apple.
The unexpected beauty of a sink full of dishes and soap.
My own eye. It's hard to get a decent picture of your own eye.
Like many people I've been fascinated and enchanted by the recently revealed photos from the James Webb Telescope. And I was reminded again of how the smallest things here on our little planet can reflect the beauty and grandeur of the unfathomable Infinity we are part of.
The patterns of Infinity can fit in the palm of your hand.
It's just astounding. Humbling. Joyful beyond description.
Thank you for reading. This is an open thread, all topics are welcome.
