Dead People Can’t Vote 2024 [1]

The honest Question for all of us to ask is:

Will we be here to vote in Nov 2024

For those of us who had our doubts and held up hopes. 2040 or 2050 was the time we had to turn around the climate catastrophe.

Pick your area of climate change triggers

* Melting Poles — melting Greenland. Blue Ocean event

* CO2 Emissions

* Dying Oceans

* Droughts and Fammine

* Soil Desertification

* Methane Releases

* Resource Mining

* Overpopulation and over development

- Can you find a researcher who’s projected timeline hasn’t been shortened?

We have lots of hopeful articles about potential solutions that are not at scale. In contrast to all predictors of extinction moving closer to the day you read about them.

The typical structure of climate change mainstream news is

1) Click bait shock to get you in

2) Data and interviews about how things are going faster than expected

3) we must act now if we wish to prevent the worst. The good news is we still have time if we act now. If we don’t act now by _______ it will be much worse etc …

Hope is the Closer. It is the lie we depend upon, because stupid white people are magnets for abusive relationships and co dependency. I know I hit you but i am sorry — I love you. I love you i would never cheat on you …. etc…

This Summer is not over. The casualties are mounting — the destruction of our environment is the photo that no longer shocks you.

Your habitat is disappearing at a “Exponential” rate.

On The dying Oceans alone

There is no decades — this testament to habitat loss is only 1. from the list above

It’s like if you drank enough alcohol to Die that would be 1 factor

If you took pills that would make you die on top of it 2 factors

If you did it with the car running in the garage 3 factors

If you injected a heroin overdose 4 factors

Any of the above triggering factors is ahead of schedule.

Climate change is:

Irreversible

Exponential

Abrupt

Exponentially more people will die from Climate related events in 2023

By a factor of ___ we don’t know.

But this year was the coolest year you will have in the time remaining

The North and South Hemispheres are not unrelated because your news source divides them.

Both Hemispheres are having Catastrophic climate events that destroy human habitat and create conditions that make living within the extreme weather events barely manageable in 2022. The great clock moves forward.

So — how many of will have enough resources to be amongst those who vote in 2024.

I wet bulbed this year — I am lucky to be here writing the piece. I know that my body cannot live in what is to come, and i am following all the dr’s instructions and making great recovery — but I am just a dot of ink in a larger statistic. If I didn’t personally know a ICU nurse that got me to all the right places i would not be here. I was lucky to have a resource. Luck is the marginal, it is not the bulk of the statistics.

I seriously doubt i will be around to cast a ballot in 2024. Maybe i will, maybe my work on food security and building community and micro climates will have me around another year….. maybe i am lucky and live somewhere where climate change is less disastrous… maybe

Maybe voting while essential. Is not enough. Maybe we need to invest in hospice for one another and easing our way out. Letting go of “ stuff” and the myth of human progress. Maybe caring for one another, spending what money we collectively have to room and shelter each other, invest in indoor growing so fewer starve. Share water resources, stop development etc ….

None of which can we really expect to get as a kickback for voting — we go it alone — when we are successful: a politician will grab the banner and dilute the effort — but that’s just how it is.
