It’s Monday, and that means David Waldman and Greg Dworkin have plenty of news and information for us to digest, so best get chewing:
We didn't really have a president for a few years prior to 2020, and it was especially noticeable on January 6, 2021. That was the day Mike Pence became Commander in Chief, one of many things Mike Pence really wasn’t qualified to do that day.
17.7 million watched Thursday’s Jan. 6 hearing, essential viewing for Americans, required for all Fox News employees producing their bizarro version this week. Now however, Rupert Murdoch might be summoning his troopers to the light side... or maybe just a different dark side.
The dark side is strong at “Restoring Integrity and Trust in Elections”, founded by William Barr and Karl Rove. (Henry Kissinger and Dick Cheney feel their energy growing.) Conservatives convince themselves that now is the time to strike back, before liberals strike first… or something... Whatever. Once they got it, it’s theirs. Nazis still don’t want Jewish people around, even if they’re helping them get raptured. The Secret Service needs to be broken up and sent to jail before they find a president they really like.
There’s nothing conservative about climate change, although the only conservatives really interested in it are the ones who will live long enough to care.
The Greg Abbott - Beto O’Rourke fight for Governor of Texas is tightening. The Marco Rubio - Pete Buttigieg fight is escalating, mostly because they hate each other. The Russia - Ukraine fight is still raging, even as Putin's rule is weakening. Russia has added Guernsey to their “list”.
Remember Madison Cawthorn? Chick-fil-A and Papa’s & Beer do have fond memories, his donors, not so much.
