District 4 Congressman Mike Johnson UNOPPOSED. Wins fourth term in office [1]

Louisiana District 4 Congressman Mike Johnson celebrates winning re-election unopposed and the next two years in office. Johnson qualified last week to run for re-election and, when qualifying was over he had no challenger. Johnson says he’s humbled and grateful.
“It was a pleasant surprise. Wed did not expect a big name challenger, but it’s certainly nice to not have to ‘engage all the forces’ unnecessarily,” he says.
Johnson says he and fellow House republicans hope to regain Majority this fall, and if that happens they have plans ahead to, as he says, “fix a lot of problems.”
“We’ll be working really hard on what we call the Commitment to America, and that’s a document not unlike the Contract with America (from the 1990’s). We have a lot of promises and a lot of work that we’re going to make and do for the American people.”
Johnson says there is opportunity for upward mobility in the House and the GOP; for him and fellow Louisiana delegates…:
“We all expect Steve Scalise will be elected Majority Leader, and I’m currently vice-chair of the House Republicans and have a very good chance of keeping that sport, or even moving up. so that’ll be a good thing for our state, and we’re looking forward to the next two years.”
