The Tomato Patch is holding up well in the heat. I’ve had a fan running out there for about 6 weeks now, and frequent watering has been necessary. It’s been very dry, but that has helped with reducing leaf fungal diseases.
The Sully Project plants are doing well. I’m seeing several different fruit shapes, colors and sizes. Most of the plants are setting good numbers of fruit, except for three. Those three have set NO fruit; I have no good explanation for that. I’ll have to consult Dr. Sully...
L-R Sully #14, Dwarf Sully #1
Dwarf Sully #1
Dwarf Sully #2
Dwarf Sully #3. This one is producing larger fruit than the other two.
A few odds & ends…
I deliver to the railroad maintenance yard on occasion. I’m talking to them about buying this old 50 ton jack. My wife wants to use it as the base for a birdbath...
A random pet grave. The flowers look like some sort of Spider Lily…?
I ran across this old cemetery last month over in Lamar County, Alabama. It doesn’t show up on Google Maps, nor can I find any mention of it in the Alabama Cemetery Registry, but it is old. This person was apparently a veteran of The Revolutionary War...
Born 1765...
That’s about all I’ve got for this Saturday Morning. I’m dealing with an employment issue at the moment, as my job is being eliminated due to corporate outsourcing. However, my prospects with the new company are very good, so it looks like I’ll be doing my same job, just with a different employer. I have a knack for landing on my feet. Speaking of cats:
Biggie & Teeny
Luci(fer) & Teeny. She does not like Teeny.
Everything goes to Hell in a handbasket next weekend, as my Stepdaughter, her fiance, 3 dogs and 2 cats move in with us until they find a house. At least they both have secured jobs downheah. For those of you keeping score at home, the animals will outnumber the humans in this household by a significant margin...
What’s going on in your garden?
