Puerto Rico's Inalienable Right to Self determination [1]

After they held The Treaty of Paris with Spain, and without any Puerto Rican representation...the United States Invaded Puerto Rico and imposed a military government...It was an arbitrary decision! In 1917 American Citizenship was imposed on Puerto Ricans...but...even though we were forced to serve in their Armed forces we were NOT allowed to participate in presidencial elections! Once again, without consulting the people of Puerto Rico! For 124 yrs the U.S. has controlled the economy, its borders & immigration, opened 6 Military bases, including the one in Vieques Island that was used for 60 yrs as a military target practice land, where they used NAPALM, Depleted Uranium, & many other Toxic chemicals in an island / municipality of 1,000 residents! In 1915 the American Federal Court system was initiated and has had the power over the local government & legislature ever since! The FBI,Coast Guard and U.S. Marshalls operate as in the U.S. Independence advocates have been persecuted and harass by these American Law Enforcement agencies for decades! The colony’s government has been a nest of corrupt politicians and at Washington’s request ..the FBI has been very selective in their local government politician’s investigations! The two major AMERICAN political parties celebrate Primaries in the island, locals vote within their party ranks and subsequently participate in each party’s National Assembly in the U.S. Their vote counts to select their Presidential candidate, but, as I mentioned before, Puerto Ricans cannot participate in Presidential elections!. That is by far, a false & illegal political practice allowed and propelled by Washington DC. In the past 20 yrs Wall Street investors (vultures) purchased massive quantities of Puerto Rican government originated bonds that had lost its value and went to court to demand payment from the government of Puerto Rico. This resulted on a Federally Imposed Commission to restructure Puerto Rico’s 78 Billion public debt! As expected, some of this commission integrants are board members at many of the Investors that sued for payment! This commission has powers over the local government and courts and the U.S. Federal Court in Puerto Rico has sided with them! Hundreds of schools have been closed, basic services have been eliminated or diminished in order to ”SAVE MONEY’ to pay the debt! The Electrical system was privatized n in one year the government has approved 6 raises to the average consumer while government agencies and municipalities do NOT pay their electric bills!

The United Nations decolonization Committee approved resolution #1514 recognizing Puerto Rico's Inalienable Right to self determination and the General Assembly is presently working with the case of Puerto Rico! The House of Representatives introduced a new bill on Puerto RIco’s status, sponsored by Alexandria Ocasio Cortez aimed to back a Plesbicite titled—The Puerto Rico Self Determination Act of 2021...where the 3 main political ideologies would be represented. Independence, Pro Statehood (U.S. Statehood) and ironically... FREE ASSOCIATION! Yes, FREE ASSOCIATION. That is exactly what the island political system has been called since the 40s! ESTADO (State) LIBRE (FREE) ASOCIADO (ASSOCIATED). Puerto Rico does NOT want nor needs the U.S. congress and perpetrator of 124 yrs of colonialism to come up with a “SOLUTION” that includes the exact same political alternative the country now experiences! If the U.S. enjoyed the INALIENABLE RIGHT TO SELF DETERMINATION when they fought the Brittish and no intervention from the brittish colonial power, WE DO NOT NEED IT EITHER! THE UNITED STATES NEEDS TO STEP ASIDE AND LET PUERTO RICANS SELECT AN INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION FROM LATIN AMERICAN, EUROPEANS AND ASIATIC COUNTRIES TO OVERSEE PUERTO RICANS TAKE CHARGE OF THEIR DESTINY WITHOUT ANYMORE AMERICAN INTERVENTION!
