We have had the “new” property sheets in place for a while, but even I continue to discover new details about them. (“Even I” feels a little presumptuous when I run actual groups far less often than I once did, so I ask for your understanding.) And I continue to enjoy discovering new groups. I really appreciate the great variety among our groups, along with the inventive applications that some users have made of them~! I find the “groups of one” particularly creative and amusing. You know, taking a moment to promote your own favorite group (whether you actually belong to it or not) would help fulfill the aim of this post, too.
Those who are familiar with Groups already will notice that two big areas do not yet have dedicated references listed here. A comprehensive resource explaining how to queue, schedule, and publish under Group auspices deserves much care and precision. Less complex but also significant: a resource to describe how to customize a Group’s profile page, along with annotating all the information it provides.
I hope that folks will take the time to check out these resources and make suggestions for improvement in the comments. As far as a poll is concerned, I’d like to know what feature or detail of the site would be at the top of your list for new documentation at the Help Desk. (Yes, of course, a more comprehensive resource to cover that whole fascinating topic of Recommends already has a spot on that list.) Undoubtedly I will miss a few, maybe even your favorite, in the options below. I am all ears, however, and again looking forward to your feedback.
I also hope that we can multi-task a little. Last week, I asked for elaboration on the poll answers and offered some top-level comments to help organize responses. I think that strategy worked reasonably well, don’t you? This time, while I would welcome comments about the poll options and hope you offer them, the top-level comments I am going to offer by way of organizing responses will focus on your feedback on the Groups suite of references—including, at the end of the list, the two key ones under development.
I think it’ll work ok. Let’s see how it goes.
