Our first Friday-that-feels-like-a-Thursday show! Yes, Greg Dworkin came by to relieve his withdrawal symptoms, and of course, to update us on the latest January 6th committee hearing.
Seems the focus of last night’s hearing was Trump’s dereliction of duty. We all knew about that, but they did keep things fresh, and we learned a lot along the way. Maybe one of the biggest losers of the evening: Josh Hawley, now being ferociously mocked for his incredible shows of both hypocrisy and cowardice.
Also not faring well: Kevin McCarthy, and unrelated to last night, Lindsey Graham. Oh, and Lee Zeldin.
Some Republicans (and ex-Republicans) say they’ve had enough. But not Trump! He’s still at it, and even continues with his plans for how to make things even worse if he’s given another chance.
Round one of Electoral Count Act reform is on, and there are some good suggestions, and some pushback, too. And even some pushback on the pushback. But when you’re dealing with a lawless party, you’re limited in what the law can do for you.
