I have been endlessly fascinated by testimony by such people as Rusty Bowers. Bowers is a devout Christian, and seemingly an absolute straight arrow. Yet he was a Trump supporter. He drew the line when he was pressured to break his oath, but apparently wouldn't say he wouldn't vote for Trump in 2024. My question, of course, is, how can a person of such rectitude support someone as obviously amoral as Donald Trump? During the Trump years, we heard what I would call the King David Defense. King David famously sent the soldier Uriah to a certain death because he coveted Uriah's wife, Bathsheba. Trump supporters defended Trump by saying that God often uses deeply flawed people to do his will.
