It’s Tuesday, so I thought I’d put myself on even footing with Joan McCarter (who in order to join us has got to be on the air at 7:30 am local time), so I stayed up until 2 am last night.

That way, neither one of us will be fully awake, but it’ll sound evenly matched.

Actually, I’m beginning to think this is a stupid idea. Maybe Joan is an early riser by nature. I don’t know! But now it’s too late—literally— and I’ve fully committed to the 2 am thing.

On the other hand, news flash: 2 am is pretty routine for me. I’m an early riser, too, technically. I just take a five hour nap first thing in the morning.
