Good evening everyone!

I found this interesting, especially when there's no coverage for this lady.

I am talking about Tish James, Attorney General for the State of New York. I am talking about her representing ex- employees of a Manhattan bar called Sweet and Vicious.

Here's a tweet from the New York AG office.

x ❌Groping and insulting female employees.

❌Routinely making racist and anti-gay comments.

❌Stealing tips.

Not on my watch:

Every New Yorker should be able to go to work without enduring abuse.https://t.co/teIU0hGX2c — NY AG James (@NewYorkStateAG) July 16, 2022

Here's an excerpt from the New York Daily News article.

James’ office has targeted restaurant owners in the past, including delivering $600,000 last year to survivors of sexual harassment and discrimination at spots owned by famed chef Mario Batali and Joseph Bastianich. In 2020, her office also secured $240,000 for 11 former employees of Ken Friedman’s the Spotted Pig.

Here's the press release from the New York Attorney General's office, discussing the toxic working environments in Mario Batali's and Joseph Bastianich's restaurants.

Here's an excerpt from the CNN article about the Spotted Pig.

The attorney general found Friedman oversaw a “sexualized workplace” where he and celebrity chef Mario Batali routinely harassed female employees. Employees were groped, asked to take nude photos, and witnessed sexual assault, the report found. Those who complained were fired. “No matter how high-profile the establishment, or how seemingly powerful the owners, today’s settlement reiterates the fact that we will not tolerate sexual harassment of any form in the workplace,” James said in her January 7 announcement. Under the rules of the settlement, Friedman agreed to step down from overseeing The Spotted Pig’s operations, but continued to have shares in the company. He also agreed to pay $240,000 to be split among 11 former employees.

This is why I wouldn't mind supporting her run for the United State Senate representing the state of New York if she decided to run or her nomination of Attorney General for United States.

This is why I voted for the Biden Harris ticket!

Here's an excerpt from Inside Higher Ed about student loan forgiveness for former Corinthian College students.

The Education Department will automatically discharge $5.8 billion in federal student loans owed by over 560,000 borrowers who attended any campus operated by Corinthian Colleges, a for-profit education company that was found guilty of defrauding students. Vice President Kamala Harris will be announcing the group discharge at noon today. This is the second mass group discharge of federal student debt accumulated by students who attended predatory for-profit colleges in history, following the group discharge for 28,000 students who attended Marinello Schools of Beauty by the department in April. The Corinthian discharge is 20 times larger than that of the Marinello Schools, making it the largest group discharge of student debt in history.

Marketwatch.com has the details, like in this excerpt of that article.

A now shuttered for-profit beauty school chain will pay the government and six whistleblowers $11 million over claims the school defrauded the feds out of federal financial aid funds. Marinello Schools of Beauty settled with the former employees, who settled a suit filed under the false claims act — a law that allows whistleblowers to file a suit on behalf of the government if they believe their company is misusing taxpayer money — earlier this year. The terms of the settlement weren’t previously reported. The former employees — whose jobs included financial aid officers, instructors, career services managers and campus director — accused the company officials of using a variety of tactics to maximize the amount of financial aid funding the school received from the government.

If you must ask, Vice President Kamala Devi Harris was California's Attorney General during that timeframe.

What makes that significant is both of these women did the work, lead the way, and suffered no fools.

Here's a tweet from Vice President Kamala Harris about Corinthian College.

Ohio Democrats, can we elect an Attorney General like Attorney General Tish James or Vice President Kamala Harris?

It's time for that right now!!
