Why are many of the no votes on the Active Shooter Alert Act from J6 seditionists, especially Gym Jordan.

And on other gun issues, why was there no question about Trump’s advancement of allowing foreign sales of US gun silencers whose # 1 US company has Trump Jr as an investor.

And as an aside, does using a suppressor make a shooter appear less “active”.

Active Shooter Alert Act passes House; why did 168 Republicans and one Dem vote against it. The bill cleared the House in a 260-169 vote, Jun 23, 2022 The House on Wednesday failed to pass a bill that sought to create a communications network that would alert people when an active shooter is in their community.

Gym Jordan and overreach Republicans opposed the measure, calling it an example of overreach by the federal government. “This bill is about Democrat fear-mongering that guns are an ever-present threat, and we cannot be safe until big government rounds up every last one of them,” Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) said on the House floor. Its passage comes after a rash of high-profile mass shootings that has thrust gun control back into the national spotlight. Last month, President Joe Biden signed into law a bipartisan bill that enhances background checks for gun buyers under the age of 21, allocates billions for mental health services, and closes the so-called “boyfriend loophole.” The active shooter alert legislation faces an uncertain fate in the Senate, where it will require 60 votes to advance to the floor for debate. www.mediaite.com/… x The constitution guarantees individual freedoms. Federal law, where in conflict, always supersedes state law.

The argument of state rights is around legislative overreach (in making laws)—not enforcing them. — Brandon Ward (@realbrandonward) June 23, 2022

The bill requires that an official at the Department of Justice, selected by the attorney general, serve as national coordinator of the communications network. The official would be tasked with urging federal, state, tribal and local government agencies to implement a plan for responding to active shooter situations and preparing a report on the program’s effectiveness in areas where it is put into effect. The Active Shooter Alert Act — which was sponsored by Reps. David Cicilline, D-R.I., and Fred Upton, R-Mich. — would allow law enforcement to deploy the alert system to notify the public when there is an active shooter threat in schools and community centers. “If your child were in a school where there was an assault, wouldn’t you want to know? How can these Republicans vote no? news.yahoo.com/… The bipartisan measure passed with 43 Republicans in favor. Only one Democrat — Wisconsin Rep. Ron Kind — voted against the legislation. Two Democrats did not vote. The Active Shooter Alert Act — co-sponsored by Reps. David Cicilline (D-RI) and Fred Upton (R-Mich.) — would allow for state, tribal and local governments to create and deploy mass alert systems to individuals in the immediate vicinity of an active shooter. Realistically, this would look similar to Amber Alert or Blue Alert notifications sent to smartphone users to notify individuals in a specific region of law enforcement activity or of a missing child. nypost.com/…

And then there’s this bit of conflict of interest.
