Continued abuse of a ten year old rape victim, [1]

Dear Kos readers, today the local new organization Telemundo show up at the residence of the ten-year-old rape victim after returning home from receiving the necessary medical care in another state. This can only serve to add to the child’s trauma. Telemundo shows up at the child’ home uninvited knocking on the family door to question the mother about the incident and her relationship to the alleged rapist. That the news organization would out this child this way is just plain despicable. This will surely result in more harm should the child become the focus of mean-spirited attacks and teasing, not to mention her self-worth and the mental and physical toll it has taken on the child health. What is even more alarming is what the mother is alleged to have said defending the rapist that is even more alarming. By the local news showing up at their apartment it won’t take long before her name is floating around the school and community. Telemundo should be blasted for doing this to a child in the name of yellow journalism. Social Services should pay mom a visit. And based on the mom’s response maybe the child should be removed from the home. Just saying, maybe the Detectives of the Columbus Division of Police should question mom regarding her knowledge of the rapes. Since it is being reported that the mom said the live in partner is being lied on? The rapist confesses and the mother denies, and Telemundo shows up to out a ten-year-old victim. This is sick and goes beyond the public’s need to know at this point.
