Good morning! Happy Friday! Wednesday was grocery day, so that’s done for the week. Bit is supposed to get off at 11 today, but we’ll see, I don’t hold my breath on that.
Today we’re going to talk about a few good books, and I’m including some funny videos that could have to do with them.
As you can see by Itzl’s concerned look, this group is for us to check in to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

Anne Bishop: Written In Red
This is part of The Others series which I really enjoy. There are many books in this series, both in series with Meg and Simon (which starts with Written in Red), and in other cities in this world with other characters, like Lake Silence with Victoria, and Wild Country with Jana, Virgil, and Jesse Walker.
One group of characters from this book is the Crowguard. They are creatures that can take the form of crows or humans. They aren’t humans that turn into crows, because they aren’t human in the first place. They are Other. But this video that someone captured of a crow snowboarding on a roof, had me thinking of this series.. is this a crow or a Crow?
Patricia Briggs: Mercedes Thompson and Alpha and Omega series
A world of werewolves, fae, vampires, witches and Native American Shifters. Mercy is a Coyote girl… native American shifter stuck in a Werewolf World, one of her best friends is a fae, another is a Vampire named Stephen. She should be out of her league, but she always manages to hold her own. Patricia Briggs paints some very powerful female characters that manage to overcome the odds and thwart the enemy, even when that enemy is themselves.
