Who is the Mystery Jan. 6th Witness That Trump Appears to Have Been Trying to Strong-arm? w/Poll [1]

I am sure I’m not the only one who was intrigued yesterday when Liz Cheney gave what is now becoming her tantalizing “Previews of Coming Attractions! Stay Tuned Folks!” revelations. Or, if you prefer, teasers.

She related a witness who has not so far been seen, received a phone call from Trump, declined to take it, reported the incident to his/her lawyer, who promptly informed the Jan 6 committee, who promptly forwarded the info to the DOJ.

So natch, the internet is spinning with theories about who that person might be. The clues are tantilizing: A person who Trump knew well enough to call and who had called him/her before — I presume the number was recognized (in fact, in the movie, the witness will have entered that number and “Donald Trump:” into their iPhone contacts). Since they are a witness it must be someone who is cooperating, so that leaves out Bannon, Stone, and Meadows. And it’s not someone we have not already heard from, I am assuming both in person or in video clips (though I could be wrongly assuming).

I have the feeling this person got a call from Trump previously that was that sort of that Mob Boss “Nice job/wife/jet ski you have there, shame if something happened to it” variety, and I am pretty certain his/her lawyer gave instruction to the witness to report it to them immediately if Trump ever called again.

And apparently he did. I figure without taking the call we can’t conclude it was going to be witness tampering, unless there is some sort of previous record of Trump calling and pressuring the witness, to the extent that they feel so uncomfortable they refuse to take his calls.

I am making a lot of conjectures here, so would certainly love to hear more from everyone about this subject in the comments below.
