According to Walter Zimmerman:

“While I’ve never made artwork specifically dealing with sexuality, my vision has always embraced issues of isolation, value, identity, and ironic struggle. It’s an improbable thrill, then, to be part of this exhibit, and to have my work viewed through this particular lens. And I wonder, myself—what does being gay mean to a piece of glass?”

According to Joseph Sircoulomb:

“My work is inspired by the spiritual teachings from ancient cultures, as well as my experiences growing up gay in the Midwest. The work I presented for this exhibition compares pain and abuse with love and desire, while connecting these emotions through the void.”

According to Drew Mattei:

“Often when I look in the mirror a contorted and swirling mass confronts me. My perception is so warped by body dysphoria that I can no longer see myself; just a mask created out of anxieties of who I am and how I am seen that hides an objective reality.”

Shown above is Shatter made in 2017 by American artist Amanda Nardone (1990- ). Stitched smartphone glass.

According to Amanda Nardone:

“By creating lingerie for men and gender non-conforming people, I ask the question: can sex-positive feminism evade pandering to the male gaze if men and GNC people are exposed the same way cis-gendered women are exposed? Instead of banning the sexualization of women, can we create an egalitarian society if we view all manners of people under the same lens.”

Shown above is Guide made in 2017 by American artist Pearl Dick (1977- ). Blown and sculpted glass, oil paint, mixed media, wood, and steel.
