California Gun Law: What Took So Long? [1]

This is gonna be short, because it’s just a question. The Gun Manufacturer Immunity Law was passed in 2005. This week California announced a law that removes that immunity if the manufacturer or dealer violates state law in the sale of the weapon. It pissed me off enormously when Congress passed this law. So my question is this:

If states could pass a law like California is doing, why in God’s name have we waited 17 years to do so?????? How many mass shootings and children had to die in order for Dems to take this step? Thank God for Gavin Newsom and his willingness to push the issue, but what does this say about all the Dem legislators and governors in the Blue controlled states between 2005 and 2021??? Do we really have such unimaginative leadership that Gavin Newsom is the first guy to come along and think of this? Or is he just the first one with the political will to do it? Either way, it does not speak well of our strategists and leaders to this point.
