Yessiree, average Jane American can breathe a sigh of relieve, knowing that our DOJ is ready and able to act quickly when there is a real crisis at hand. What crisis you ask? There is a terrible crisis involving multi-millionaire golfers who left one golf league where they made millions to go to another tour for tens of millions cannot play in the old league anymore! Front page news right?

Many here are probably not aware, but there is a big issue and controversy occurring in professional golf. The Saudi wealth management fund, under the direction of MBS, has launched a new golf league called the LIV tour. They are luring some of the top golfers to jump from the old golf leagues with bucketloads of money, reportedly $20 million to $30 million for over the hill middle of the roaders, to $200 million for the likes of Phil Mickelson. If they attract enough of the top talent, it would seemingly destroy the old golf leagues like the PGA Tour and the DP World.

Those established tours have responded by suspending the golfers who left for the LIV tour. Unfair say the golfers, and boy howdy, did the DOJ get on it! The PGA Tour has a non-profit status, so there may be some antitrust issue involved. Got to save the freedom of the golfer millionaires to play wherever and whenever they want, right? Wonder if MBS made a phone call or two?

New story (DOJ investigates PGAT ):

Justice Department investigating PGA Tour for possible antitrust violations tied to LIV Golf Key Points The Justice Department is investigating the PGA Tour for potentially anti-competitive behavior in its actions with LIV Golf.

The tour suspended 17 players for choosing to compete in the LIV Golf tournament in June.

The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the investigation, said the Justice Department is looking into the tour’s bylaws.

You can sleep better now knowing that Merrick Garland is on it!
