Starting off in the Bistro Cafe, in a midnight move, Pennsylvania Repugs wrote an abortion ban in the state’s constitution.
Then, on the rest of the menu, the June jobs report found the US private sector has regained every job lost during the pandemic; the Biden administration is sending billions of dollars to upgrade airports after Trump failed to help them; and, nearly a year after the DOJ opened an investigation into Phoenix police brutality, Arizona has made it illegal to videotape cops beating the crap out of somebody.
After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where the Russian alternative to McDonald’s is facing a french fry shortage; and, the US is terminating its four-decade-old tax treaty with Hungary over that country’s resistance to implementing a global minimum tax.
