Note from FosterMom: We survived Covid. Yay. Thank goodness for vaccines and (in my husband’s case) Paxlovid. Unfortunately, my oldest dog (the really old one who went through so much illness last summer and fall, but then rallied and had a reasonably good six months) is probably on her last breaths. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain, which is good, but she appears to have decided yesterday that “enough is enough” and she isn’t going to bother to wake up anymore. She’s slept solidly for the past 15 hours or so, other than to briefly raise her head, take a sip of water, and go back to sleep. So I’m going to be sitting with her, waiting for her to either pass quietly or to need a trip down to the emergency vet clinic for help in passing. I’ll check in if I can….
