Still Rising?

Last week’s apparently relentless new wave of US Covid-19 cases seems somewhat more questionable this week. New cases actually backed off a bit this week, along with the weekly death toll — only serious hospitalizations are still rising, so we may need another week or two to see if this really is the start of another Big Wave or not.

The real question now is whether all of our July 4th travel is going to end up supercharging the current wave the way we did last year at this time during the transition from Alpha to Delta. Note also that the apparently alarming increases in the Canadian stats this week is due primarily to the delay in last week’s numbers from the Canada Day holiday.
