California Apocalypse Season has started again. Yosemite is in its path. [1]

I'm using this image as a stock image of a forest fire. This is not Yosemite.
The California fire Apocalypse season has begun again. Sadly this time near Yosemite. I know this because the hotel we were about to stay in had to evacuate. Thankfully we hadn’t driven over yet. My sister and family did fly in so we’ll do Big Sur instead. It will be a minor inconvenience for us, life changing for those near it.
I was naively hoping we’d miss fire season this year in California, or at least have a toned down one. It’s horribly destructive for those in the path, and for those not in the path of flames, clouds of doom fill our skies for months. Here in Sonoma County we’ve had some big burns so the most I can hope for is Sonoma is spared this year. California will clearly not be. It’s surreal to be checking air quality like most people check weather.
I was talking with my sister how the worst we had to worry about with traveling as kids was taking a wrong turn or getting a flat tire. Our kids have pandemics and infernos. The kids are a little freaked out. I’m quite stunned where our world has gone.
When do people with power finally wake up?
When we rip that power out of their hands.
