I’m well aware that few go to DKOS to hear new music, but you folks have put my writings on the Rec List many times, so I thought you might enjoy this song “Shotgun Future” from my band TELL’s upcoming album “I Wish I Could Believe in God” .
“Shotgun Future” is a sardonic look at what could happen if the GQP fully had their way, and their chickens came home to roost.

Bennie bought his gun when he was very young
From the money he’d won playing Online Bingo For Cash
He liked the way they’d run when they saw him come
Felt like the power of the sun right there in his hands
So I took it for a spin
CHORUS 1 we’ve been staring down the future
Like the barrel of a shotgun
Staring down the future
Like we don’t know if we’ve got one
He showed his parents the new weapon like a trophy that he’d won
And then he took it to school ‘cause he’d decided he was done
He had himself a plan he was tired of their demands
And all the things they’d done to him and everyone
So he took out his gun
CHORUS 2
BRIDGE Teacher stood there in his MAGA hat said that’s fine
Long as the kid wasn’t gay or trans or black
He didn’t know Bennie was two out of three
And his anger at the man unleashed an inner beast
He aimed his gun then saw that all the kids had one
So together they blasted that teacher into oblivion.
