Oh the pretzels republicans will twist themselves into to oppose any tiny measure to advance gun safety laws. Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) in her long rant on the House floor against the gun safety bill on Tuesday said that she would shoot her grandchildren to save them as a last resort.

In her boiler-plate response, she does not even use the word “misspoke”. So, Lesko meant what she said? x It never ceases to amaze me the lengths gun control zealots will go! They turned my speech about protecting Second Amendment rights and my right to protect my grandchildren from violent criminals into a claim I would harm my own grandchildren. We can presume these words somehow resonate with the loony right, but what kind of sublimal message is there for the gun-crazy republican base in her ranting statement?
Is Debbie Lesko saying that shooting her grandchildren would be a last resort to protect her privilege to own and shoot guns?
