Justice Roberts, Please Resign [1]

On July 6, 1990 St. Louis Cardinals (baseball) manager Whitey Herzog resigned. Big league sports managers almost never resign. They get fired. But they don’t quit.
By resigning, Whitey made a statement — he essentially fired his team. They were embarrassing him, and he had had enough.
Chief Justice Roberts should do the same. The Roberts Court will be known as traitors to American democracy. You’ve failed as a manager.
Don’t make false excuses like you want to spend more time with your family. Just don’t.
Quit. Walk away. Begin making amends by alerting Americans to the coming Court coup d’etat, where the Court decides elections in advance.
Resign. Repent. Begin your penance now. As it stands today, you’d not be spared the eternal fires of Hell, regardless of your piety. You are complicit.
You have led a Court that has turned to vengeance, dogma, resentfulness, and evil. Its decisions are filled through with meanness and hate. Your Court’s rulings are illogical and poorly argued. The ruling against Roe vs. Wade reads like it was written by a 10th grader trying to sound like a lawyer. It is not even slightly persuasive; it is purely an exercise of power.
Your Court is salting the Earth on its way out. Just for spite, it seems.
Don’t participate any more. Go away. Practice kindness instead of cruelty. Help others. Restore your soul, if it is possible. At least give yourself a thin change of purgatory.
Your resignation won’t save the team you’ve built. There would still be five pious crazies to punish the needy, prevent democracy, and ruin our future.
But your resignation would make a statement. It would help people understand how bad your Court has become. Fire your team.
