A Proposal to Save the American Electoral Process

In light of all the CRAZY that has presented itself in the halls of Congress recently, it has become apparent that a qualifying exam should be required in order to run for office. Just as one must pass a test in order to drive a car, one should pass an exam that demonstrates fitness for office. So, on this July 4th, in support of the continued existence of our republic, I recommended the following questions for said exam. These are questions that should be correctly answered easily by anyone who has graduated from the 5th grade (obviously Lauren Bobert is thus immediately disqualified.)

Basic Civics Knowledge

1. How many branches of government are there?

Name them.

2. Is the leader of the United States an omnipotent monarch?

3. Can the Constitution of the Untied States be changed?

If you answered yes, how?

4. Is there a separation of church and state implied in the Constitution?

If you answered yes, where?

5. Is it a crime to try to overthrow the duly elected government of the United States because you are a sore loser with the impulse control of a toddler? (This is not a trick question. It is based on a true story.)

Personal Suitability For Office

6. Have you ever lent aid and comfort to anyone trying to overthrow, undermine, or otherwise destroy the legitimately elected government of the United States?

7. Have you ever attempted to bring a weapon into the U.S. Capitol?

8. Have you ever demonstrated symptoms of insanity, such as claiming that Jewish Space Lasers started California wildfires, or that one can stop a hurricane with a nuclear bomb?

9. Do you believe that Fox News, OAN or Newsmax are actual news channels?

10. Is your IQ exceeded by your waist size?

11. Have you ever consumed, or recommended consuming, bleach as a medicinal?

General Knowledge

12. Which of these countries are NOT generally considered to be allies of the United States? Name all that apply.

China

Russia

France

North Korea

13. Is Covid a real pandemic or a hoax? Justify your answer.

14. Is the world flat or is it a sphere.

15. Who won the 2020 presidential election? How do we know this?

If you answer any of these questions incorrectly, you should not be eligible to run for office because you have displayed obvious intellectual, psychological, cognitive or emotional incapacities. God Bless America. Happy 4th of July.
