Kitchen Table Kibitzing
Farm
Many of y’all know we lived on a farm in Sebastopol for 40 years, then downsized to a condo. Our son and DIL live there, renting the house and maintaining the acreage. We have been house and cat-sitting for two+ weeks. When the cats were kittens they brought them over to the condo.
Normal Kitten Chaos
Now they are grown, calm and relaxed (most of the time). It took a while for them to accept us while we were staying there.
Tiger
Summer (Looks a lot like Chrislove’s Zoe, doesn’t she?)
The farm property was described on the 1877 Sonoma County almanac. It was a dairy, then the property was subdivided and inherited by the family (oldest son, etc.). Now it’s 20 acres, pastures and many trees. I personally planted 120 Redwood trees which are now 30+ feet tall. The original house has been slightly modified but still mostly original.
I snapped this photo yesterday from the highest part of the farm, about 50 feet above the house.
You can see my tractor; I had just mowed on the left. Some of our solar panels are visible; more on the other side.
We spent half our life there and felt how much we were blessed. But it’s a lot of work, so at our age it was appropriate to downsize to a condo.
