There's actually water down under the cattail reeds and lily leaves. Pretty much the normal state of the pond for this time of year.
It is my self-appointed task this year to get at least one monthly reference photo of Dellinger’s Pond, here in Quincy, CA, for the entire year. Compare last month to title photo.

The Great Egret I photographed today was standing in nearly the exact same spot as the one from just a week ago; I’m wondering if today’s is the very same individual.
