How did we get here? In one week, the Supreme Court has dealt unbelievable blows to gun safety, abortion rights, Native sovereignty, Miranda rights, the separation of church and state, and more. One piece of the puzzle is corporations, who have spent millions on anti-Roe and anti-progressive politics.

Voting, protesting, and telling our stories is important. But we can also engage in targeted boycotts of corporations, in addition to campaigns to name & shame those companies which have given money to anti-Roe and anti-progressive politics.

We can contact these companies publicly to tell them: we know where your money’s gone, and we’re demanding divestment. Public remarks on social media are best, since it spreads awareness. Note: many of the corporate leaders and board members of these companies have public profiles on social media. Every single one of these individuals has a role to play — demand that they work to ensure that their companies divest from anti-progressive causes.

If you care about any of these causes, please tweet at or publicly message one or two (or all!) of these companies TODAY.

As a starting point, let me introduce you to The Dirty Dozen (well, actually 13), companies which collectively gave $15 million since 2016 to anti-choice political committees:

Amazon

AT&T

Citi

Coca-Cola

Comcast (owns NBCUniversal, Nickelodeon, and many others)

CVS

General Motors (owns Buick, Chevy, and many others)

Google

T-Mobile

Walgreens

Walmart

Wells Fargo

Verizon
