PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS

I am republishing a revised version of a previous diary I published because “G2geek” commented that it should be on the rec list, and that I should republish it containing specific recommendations on important races for November. So, read on, and more importantly, DONATE, or volunteer.

I read a lot of diaries saying we need to pick up X seats in the Senate, hold on to the House, elect Governors and Secretaries of State across the country, and I agree. Unfortunately, I live in NY and cannot vote in all of the important races across the country. But I can, and do, DONATE, a small amount, $5 a month, to individual races for Senate, House, Governors, and Secretaries of State, and even some State Legislators, across the country. Admittedly, $5 is a small amount and will not change the outcome of any individual race. But if 1000 of you join me, that makes $5,000, if 10,000 of you join me, that makes $50,000, now we are talking. Don’t just yap on DK, put your money where your month is, and Donate, or volunteer, if you live in a State holding an important election.

Some of the important state elections I am donating to, and why they are important.

Texas will have 40 electoral votes in 2024, and we cannot have them in the hands of a Republican Governor who may just throw them out if a Democrat wins. That’s why I donate to Betto O’Rourke for Governor, and Wendy Davis for Congress. Just trying to turn Texas blue.

Pennsylvania, very important. The Republican candidate for Governor, Doug Mastriano, has indicated he would throw out Pennsylvania’s electoral votes, if he doesn’t agree with them. That’s why I donate to Josh Shapiro for Governor, and John Fetterman, for the Senate. We don’t want Trump’s “Wizard of Oz” in the Senate. Mastriano should be running for Governor of Transylvania, not Pennsylvania.

Georgia’s must win elections. Stacy Abrams running for Governor, and Raphael Warnock running to keep his Senate seat. Also, Marcus Flowers in running to unseat Marjorie Taylor Greene in Congress. You know her, crazy as a loon, and must be defeated. Bee Nguyen is running against Raffsenberger for Secretary of State. Yes! he stood up against Trump’s attempt to have him throw out Georgia’s electoral vote and find him just 11,780 votes. But he is a staunch Republican, and Georgia should have a Democrat for Secretary of State. Also, the Atlanta DA Fanny Willis is investigating Trump and company for criminally attempting to influence Georgia’s election. Jen Jordan, running for Attorney General, we must have someone we can trust with the vote count in 2024.

Florida where Val Demmings is trying take away the Senate seat occupied by Marco Rubio. It is a close race and Demings has a good chance to capture that Senate seat for the Democrats.

Arizona. Katie Hobbs the Secretary of State is running for Governor. Let’s turn Arizona Blue.

Wisconsin, the Lieutenant Governor, Mandela Barnes is running for the Senate. This is another Senate seat in play.

Kentucky, Charles Booker is running to unseat Rand Paul. I just don’t like Rand Paul.

Ohio where Tim Ryan is running in a close race for the Senate. Another Senate race where the Democrats have a fair chance of winning. Also, donating to Nina Turner for Congress, hoping for a crossover vote for Tim Ryan.

Navada. Catherine Cortez-Masto is running against Paul Lexalt, a Trump backed Maga Republican.

IOWA, supporting Abby Frankenauer, a former Democratic Congresswoman, in her run for the Senate.

Colorado. Finally, Alex Walker, running to unseat Lauren Bobbit, a co-conspirator with Marjory Taylor Green in Georgia. Let’s bid good riddance of both of them.

That’s 7 new Senators, enough to hold on to Senate control, and reform the filibuster.

Act Blue does a lot of work supporting Democratic candidates, and a small tip, along with your donation would help them continue operate.

Please list, in your comments, the names of the candidates or organizations you think should be supported.

PS: I am publishing this on my birthday (81), and if you want to help me celebrate, just push the rec button so we attract a lot of other readers and keep the Senate and House in November.

Don’t forget to vote in November, if we all vote we can win.
