I am a recent convert to the Democratic Party. I want the Democratic Party to maintain control of the House and the Senate. I look forward to voting for Biden in 2024. The pandemic, J6, and recent Republican shenanigans played a role in my conversion.



Since I voted for Gary Johnson in 2016, you may blame me for everything bad that happened since then. Not that it actually is my fault, it just makes more sense to blame me than it makes to blame Bernie, Obama, Hillary, or RBG. If I had voted for Hillary, Trump still would have won Indiana. Maybe I could have gone canvassing in Ohio and made a difference.



In 2016, I saw the presidential race as a contest between the status quo and an incompetent, racist buffoon. I didn’t think that the status quo needed my help. Trump was running such a bizarre, sloppy, scandal plagued campaign that all the experts were sure that he would lose. On Election Night 2016, every third party activist was thinking that the GOP would have their final meltdown, and that their own little group could swell up to fill the new power vacuum.



Before I joined last year, I was warned that there lots of infighting and petty politics. I wasn’t deterred by that, since my old party has infighting too. I figure I’d rather ride the bench on a team that can win a championship than be the MVP of a last place team. Frankly, I’m used to getting shit on, so I’m still getting used to how polite and courteous other Democrats have been to me.



So Democrats, please show your long term rivals the same courtesy that you have shown me, so that we may unite and beat the Republicans. Or you can all blame and ostracize me, so that you can unite and beat the Republicans. But the Republicans must be beaten.
