Good morning, Cafe! Taking a brief respite from the whirled, let’s just have a cuppa and something tasty and see what treasures (and maybe a little trash) I’ve gathered.

Reminder: The extra Jan.6 hearing is at 1 pm Eastern, noon Central.

All are welcome to join the fun, the silliness, the conversations. If you don’t know...just ask! Some things really do require a bit of explanation. There will be a few surprises along the way, all good ones, we hope. We are here to keep building the Daily Kos Community. We post Mon-Sun at 10:30 a.m. Eastern. Pie fights will be met with outrageous ridicule and insults. Trolls will be incinerated and served at the next group BBQ. As briquettes.

Not the usual treasure, but I was delighted to find this! I didn’t know about it, for some reason, but I’m happy to share it……

x “Sea Cats”

Until the mid-twentieth century

traveled on boats to take care of rats and rodents and had passports signed with their paw. pic.twitter.com/0MXFDPluSf — Edward Elderman (@edwereddie) June 23, 2022

While they were resurfacing the carpark, and “offered” to have vehicles towed for $150 (!!) if they were in the way, I thought a similar thing!

My mum had a coat like one of these...I ain’t sayin’ which one!

THIS is what happens when you give catnip to raccoons!

This is one of those “dunno if it’s trash or treasure” things...I’m going with treasure because I think it is!

And finally….treasures come along when we least expect them…..

x Not sure why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture called "Dignity" was unveiled several years ago in Chamberlain South Dakota.

Created by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation. It's absolutely stunning. pic.twitter.com/RHpWU4oTss — Rob Szczerba 🇺🇦 (@RJSzczerba) June 19, 2022

What would you like to talk about this morning?
