Parliamentary Hearing on the Family Code was Held – Canal Caribe

This Tuesday the Parliamentary Public Hearing “Cuba Lives in Families” took place, on the bill of the Family Code that is submitted to popular consultation throughout the country.

The meeting was convened by the permanent work commissions for Constitutional and Legal Affairs, and Attention to Youth, Children and Equal Rights for Women. Renowned academics, jurists and deputies highlighted that the proposed rule recognizes and protects the dissimilar forms of families in a state of law and social justice.

When referring to parental responsibility and progressive autonomy, experts from several nations pointed out that these are figures that promote education based on forms of positive upbringing, stimulate the free development of personality and the active participation of boys, girls and adolescents in a context of legality.

It transpired in the parliamentary public hearing that the project incorporates the most current debates on family law with deep humanism and stands on ethics and respect for difference.

The Family Code Bill is a legitimate text that achieves perfect harmony between the social sciences and popular wisdom and corrects asymmetries in the current legal system.
