This school period has been marked by the health crisis associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the Ministry of Education (MINED), students in sixth grade of elementary school, junior high school, tenth and eleventh grades of pre-university will finish their studies next March; also first, second and third year of pedagogical training, as well as first and second year students of technical-professional education.

In the case of early childhood and students from first to fifth grades of the primary and special educational levels, their classes will end on March 11th.

The 2022 school year will begin on March 7 and 14 in most territories and will end on November 19. This national schedule will not be met in the province of Las Tunas, where there were delays in face-to-face activities.

Nor will it be carried out in this way in several municipalities where progress was made in the 2020-2021 academic program, due to a more favorable epidemiological situation, and which will have a specific treatment.

The Ministry of Education also reported that this Monday, January 31, intensive preparation began for the entrance exams to higher education, which will take place on the FIRST, March 4th and 8th.
