Cuba continues to decline in cases of COVID-19 – Canal Caribe

At the close of yesterday, February 18, a total of 9 thousand 855 patients are admitted, 6 thousand 604 suspects in surveillance 88 and confirmed active 3 thousand 163. For COVID-19, 14,586 samples were studied for surveillance on the day, with 629 being positive.

The country has accumulated 12,977,887 samples and 1,064,757 positive samples. Of the total cases (629): 608 were contacts of confirmed cases, 12 with a source of infection abroad and 9 without a specified source of infection.

Of the 629 diagnosed cases, 348 were female and 281 male. 9.4% (59) of the 629 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 144,770, which represents 13.6% of those confirmed to date.

Of the 629 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (166), 20 to 39 years old (171), 40 to 59 years old (175), 60 and over (117).
