A bibliographic sample in the National Library of Cuba recalls this Wednesday the imprint of the Apostle José Martí on the occasion of the 170th anniversary of his birth.

The project, in charge of the Club Martiano belonging to the institution declared a National Monument, includes documents, publications, photos and posters that increase its heritage funds and is part of the commemorative celebrations that will cover an entire year.

Symbol of Cuban culture inside and outside the country, the BNJM will be the stage for the launch of the call for the Read Martí contest, aimed at disseminating the thought of the hero of Cuban independence among the new generations during its 23rd edition.

The national and international Day for the 170th anniversary of the poet and National Hero is convened by the institutional system of the Office of the Martí Program, the International Network of José Martí Chairs, and the World Council of the José Martí Project of International Solidarity.
