Doctor of Sciences Eduardo Martínez Díaz, President of BioCubaFarma, recalled on his Twitter account that the Anti-COVID-19 Abdala, Soberana-02 and Soberana-Plus vaccines from Cuba were the first developed in Latin America and the Caribbean, while They obtained the Emergency Use Authorization granted by CECMED, a Regulatory Authority recognized by the WHO and a reference in the region.

Martínez Díaz highlighted on the social network: «We do not compete with the sister countries of the region to be the first; we compete with a virus. On behalf of the team in charge, he said: “We had the experience and capacity, we worked very hard and we succeeded.”
