With the aim of improving the mechanisms for global confrontation with Covid19 and other challenges in health matters, a special session of the World Health Organization took place.

In the virtual forum, the Cuban Minister of Public Health, Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, intervened to examine the advantages of drawing up a WHO international agreement or agreement on preparing for and responding to pandemics.

The head of MINSAP pointed out that the agreements of this appointment cannot obviate gaps between the health systems of the North and the South.

These differences need to be corrected, and to achieve this requires the firm commitment of developed nations to face other complex epidemiological situations that may arise, he pointed out in his intervention.
