Legislators from the United States blamed President Joe Biden for failing to fulfill his promise to improve relations with Cuba, the Mexican newspaper La Jornada reported this Saturday in a headline.
The newspaper inserts an information from its correspondent in New York, David Brooks, who describes that in the face of this situation, a growing number of Democratic legislators, together with former officials and experts, urge the White House to renew the normalization of relations with Havana.
Across the US, organizations and individuals affiliated with Acere worked tirelessly to draw the Representatives’ attention to that letter and encourage them to sign. The representative of Pink Code, Medea Benjamin sent a message for the Cuban television audience.
The meeting between migrant caravanists and Mexican government officials yielded results as today the regularization of some 400 members who arrived in the capital where it will be dissolved will begin.
The decimated caravan -which left Tapachula for the border with the United States more than 50 days ago- reached up to four thousand people, but the vast majority gave up continuing due to the difficulty of the walk.
A large part of them accepted offers of work permits issued by the Mexican government, and around 400 persisted in continuing, but with the idea of reaching only as far as Mexico City to negotiate with the government.
In Venezuela, the sector vice president of Public Works and Services of Venezuela, General Néstor Luis Reverol, denounced a new attack on the country’s electricity system at dawn this Friday, in a telephone conversation with the state channel Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) , the Minister of Electric Power said that the attack was registered in the Guri electricity complex in the south of the country.
Telesur reports that the electrical attack has affected several entities that are located in different areas of the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, as well as in areas of the states of Zulia, Mérida, Carabobo, Miranda, Lara, Aragua, Apure, Anzoátegui, Vargas, Bolívar, Nueva Esparta, Barinas, Trujillo, Sucre, Táchira, Falcón, Yaracuy and Portuguesa. We hope that they can recover the electrical service in the Bolivarian country very soon.
