The President of the United States, Joe Biden, inaugurated his presumed “Summit for Democracy”, with guests chosen based on the favor or displeasure of Washington as a selection criterion.

For such lightheartedness, the Hungarian Prime Minister, Víktor Orban, vetoed a more active participation of the European Union in the event whose first day closed with a reflection on the crisis of democracy in the host nation.
