And Trump returns, in the style of the old west

From what I have read, many of us came to mind this week the memory of American western movies, in which they put in the doors of the bars, where the tough guys with their rifles, the photo of criminals with the “wanted” sign and below a reward for those who give them away or capture them alive or dead. That image came about because of one of those many news related to the United States policy towards Cuba, and that have the rare peculiarity of awakening both anger and laughter. Three million dollars will offer Washington to spy and gather information about the work of Cuban doctors in the world and to show alleged human rights violations. This contest, this raffle, includes foreign organizations and of course, will also constitute another form of financing to certain groups within the Island … the same as always.

We already know what is behind all this, we already know that it is a complement to that United States initiative to include Cuba in the list of countries complicit in trafficking in persons, which subsequently allows them to implement a series of measures and justify their policy. That is evident, what does not seem so clear is what will happen with that money that, by the way, did not come out of the millions of Trump, nor of the accounts of Marco Rubio, the Diaz-Balart or those of Bolton, nor of the Multinational accounts that finance the political life of that country, no, this money comes from taxpayers, from ordinary American taxes, or perhaps, from those budgets that Trump has cut in social matters.

But back to the question, where will those three million go? Well, mathematics complicates things, only in Brazil did Cuban doctors offer health to more than 28 million people, images of how much the number of patients would reach if we add those that receive care in more than fifty countries, and now let’s imagine if all those millions of people offered information in search of that reward. How much would they play? Of course there is irony in my words, I say this to get attention in two aspects, first, the life and work of our doctors in the world is public, they live and work in the neighborhoods, their patients are their neighbors, and they don’t know You need to hire spies to know the details of your day to day or the information you want.
