Cuba confirms effectiveness of the Sovereign 02 vaccine against Beta and Delta variants

Cuba confirms the effectiveness of the Sovereign 02 vaccine against variants of COVID19, Beta and Delta. The Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV) of Cuba published this Monday on its Twitter account the final results of the phase III clinical trial of Soberana02.

According to the study, Soberana02, with only two doses, obtained an efficacy of 71.0%, against circulating beta and delta strains. Additionally, the third dose of Soberana Plus was proven to increase efficacy by up to 92.4%.

The results indicate that Soberana02 is a promising vaccine that can be used in a two-dose regimen or in a heterologous three-dose combination with Soberana Plus.
