Joe Biden tries to reform the US Supreme Court

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, signed an executive order to create a commission to analyze the possible reform of the Supreme Court with more members, confirmed the White House.

According to an official statement, the 36-member group, with a bipartisan group of legal experts, former officials and advocates of the changes, will operate for six months and then issue its recommendations. The specialists will investigate the expansion of the highest court in the country (now with six conservative judges and three liberals), an idea sponsored by some Democratic politicians described as progressive, but strongly criticized by Republicans.

In the opinion of experts, supporters of the changes are pressuring the president, Joe Biden, to add seats to the Supreme Court after his predecessor, Donald Trump, solidified the conservative majority of the court with three appointments in his term.
