Jair Bolsonaro is denounced before The Hague for the deforestation of the Amazon

The Austrian environmental NGO AllRise filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro for his responsibility in accelerating deforestation in the Amazon, classified as a “crime against humanity.”

Baptized as “The planet vs Bolsonaro”, the complaint filed before the court in The Hague seeks to create jurisprudence by considering that the actions of the Brazilian president, and his administration, not only represent an attack against the Amazon but against all humanity, they reported responsible for the NGO. «They are the lungs of our planet, so their destruction affects us all.

In the complaint we presented evidence showing how Bolsonaro’s actions have a direct connection to the negative consequences of climate change around the world, ”explained AllRise founder Johannes Wesemann.
