Eusebio Leal Spengler Prize awarded for the first time in Cuba

The Provincial Executive Committee of the Union of Cuban Historians in Havana, with the co-sponsorship of the Office of the City Historian and the University of Havana, will present, for the first time, the Eusebio Leal Spengler Award. The recognition will be part of the Conference for the Day of the Cuban Historian.

Researchers with historiographic, anthropological or patrimonial results and who have stood out for the solidity, comprehensiveness and scientific rigor of their work for the benefit of the provincial and national historical culture for a period of no less than 25 years may opt for the award.

The Eusebio Leal Spengler Award will be presented on the 1st. of July in the provincial act for the Day of the Historian. With it, the tradition of incorporating the tribute to the eternal Historian of the City of Havana, along with the one that is usually performed to Emilio Roig de Leuchsenring, will begin.
