Cuba will not forget the help of Vietnam

The head of Cuban diplomacy recalled the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, when expressing “for Vietnam we are willing to give up our own blood”.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, also held official talks on Monday with the Deputy Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Comrade Pham Binh Minh.

In a friendly atmosphere, both Foreign Ministers reviewed the excellent progress of bilateral relations. They reiterated the will to strengthen the economic-commercial links, and investment and cooperation between the two nations.

They coincided in emphasizing that the year 2018 was characterized by an intense and fruitful political dialogue at the highest level; also, they exchanged on topics of mutual interest on the international agenda.

Accompanied the distinguished visitor, the Ambassador of Vietnam in Cuba, Nguyen Trung Thanh; the Director of the Department of Foreign Policy, Nguyen Minh Vu; the Acting Director of the Department of the Americas, Le Chi Dung; and other officials of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On the Cuban side, the General Director of Bilateral Affairs, Emilio Lozada García; the General Director of Multilateral Affairs and International Law, Rodolfo Reyes Rodríguez; the Director of Asia and Oceania, Alberto Blanco Silva; and other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At another time, the representatives of the nations signed the Political Consultation Plan between both nations, which aims to strengthen political dialogue on issues of interest in the bilateral and multilateral sphere between the two ministries.

Pham Binh Minh was also received at the headquarters of the National Assembly of the People’s Power by the president of the highest Cuban legislative body, Esteban Lazo Hernández, who told him that Cuba will not forget the help of Vietnam after passing through the Greater Antillean hurricanes that caused devastation and damage to the national economy and thanked the support of the struggle of the Cuban people against the United States blockade.
